In an ABA Journal posting a lawyer in South Carolina was suspended from practice for 60 days for incivility. The lawyers breach consisted of sending a letter to the town manager regarding a zoning question involving his client, a church. “The missive accuses McIver (the town manager) of making false statements about the zoning matter, and goes on to say that the town manager ‘has no brains and it is questionable if he has a soul.’ White (the attorney in question) doesn’t spare Atlantic Beach (the town) officials, either, describing them as ‘pagans’ and criticizing them for ‘pigheadedly’ causing damages to the church.”
Note: it pays to give even souless pagans the benefit of common courtesy.
