Crimes Against Persons with Disabilities, 2009-2011

Presents estimates of nonfatal violent victimization (rape, sexual assault, robbery, aggravated and simple assault) against persons age 12 or older with disabilities from 2009 to 2011. Findings are based on the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS). The report compares the victimization of persons with and without disabilities, including distributions by age, race, sex, victims’ types of disabilities, and other victim characteristics.

Prisoners in 2011

Presents data on prisoners under the jurisdiction of federal and state correctional authorities on December 31, 2011, collected from the National Prisoner Statistics series. The report compares changes in the prison population during 2011 to changes from yearend 2000 through yearend 2010. It explores factors leading to the second straight year of decline in the state prison population, as well as continued growth in the federal prison population.

Correctional Populations in the United States, 2011

Presents summary data on the number of offenders under the supervision of the adult correctional systems in the United States at yearend 2011. Persons supervised by the adult correctional systems include those in the community under the authority of probation or parole agencies that supervise adults and those in the custody of state or federal prisons or local jails. The report provides statistics on the size and change in the total correctional population, by correctional status, during 2011.

Arrest in the United States, 1990-2010

Presents annual estimates of arrests in the United States covering the period between 1990 and 2010. Based on data collected by the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program, this report expands the FBI’s set of published arrest estimates to include offense-specific arrest estimates grouped by age, sex, and race.

Criminal Victimization, 2011

Presents 2011 estimates of rates and levels of criminal victimization in the U.S. This bulletin includes violent victimization (rape or sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault) and property victimization (burglary, motor vehicle theft, and property theft). It describes the annual change from 2010 and analyzes 10-year trends from 2002 through 2011. The bulletin includes estimates of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and injury and use of weapons in violent victimization. It also describes the characteristics of victims.
